Hey all I know it’s been a little while since I posted about the house. It was going like crazy, now it seems things are slowing a bit well at least it doesn’t look like much anyway. All the plumbing, electrical, (and we had a lot of extra lighting added) structure wiring and insulation are all in. It looks really good. We almost had a little mishap with some wiring. I really wanted to add some of my own wiring and decided I would. Well the builder wasn’t to pleased about that but after a little discussion and I think he could see I know what I’m doing he let the wiring stay. Wow I was glad about that. Now we are waiting on an inspection and then drywall should show up tomorrow or Monday. After that it will take about 3 days to put up all the drywall and about a week to tape mud and sand it. After that we should receive a closing date about 45-50 days out.

Comm closet! Only a tech guy would convert his hall closet to a comm closet. This will house all the networking, whole home audio, phones, intercom, dvr security cameras, blue ray and hd dvr for both the family room and master bedroom TV’s.

We have great news all around today. We will close on our current home tomorrow and they have started putting up the piers of our foundation. I spoke with the builder yesterday and it looks like the piers should be complete tomorrow and they will be bringing in the floor joists on the 13th. Once the floor is in place and the builder and engineer sign off on it they will start construction of the framing. We will see real progress at this time. Now that we can see how the house is sitting on the property we are very pleased with the lot. Enjoy the photos.

It looks as though they have started working on our new home. They cleared the lot on Wednesday. All looks good we were able to save a couple of trees in the front and we were able to save some in the back 2 sides. This should give us some privacy on sides in the back. Straight out the back we have alot of trees and they should always stay since it is a wetlands area and there is a buffer on each side of the wetlands.

I wanted to share with everyone our selections for the new house.
First Items will be the brick and garage door. The brick is called South Hampton.

This is the carpet, hardwood(Cherry), and vinyl we picked out. I don’t have pictures of the tile that is going in the bathrooms.

Next is the cabinet color and granite. Cabinets are Cafe Mexicano, we also have some antique black cabinets mixed in. The granite is black called ubutuba.

Hey everyone just a quick update on the house. My Dad, Tam and I have decided to further invest together and purchase our current home as a rental property. This should allow us to get the down payment we need for our new home and allow us to keep the current one as an investment into our future. We are very excited about this and still have a few hoops to jump through to complete the transaction. We are shooting to close on our current home by June 15th. Then we can remove the contingency off of our home being built. I of course will be standing in front of our new house everyday trying to make them build faster… or at least I will until they ban me from the property. Tomorrow we go to the design center to pick out all the colors for our new home. We hope they will get moving now that we will be picking everything out. The builder has surveyed the land and marked out where our new house will be placed on the property. They should start to clear the trees on the lot soon. We went out and marked some trees in the front and side areas we would like to keep. They builder told us he would try to keep what he could. Since all the pictures were lost when the blog failed I will post some more. Wish us much luck in this endeavor as we wait the next 6 months while they build our new home and hopefully our last home.
